You were created for a unique purpose. Everyone, in spite of the circumstances of their birth, has been placed on earth, to carry out a specific assignment given to them by the LORD. It is up to you to discover the purpose for which you were born. Once you discover your purpose, you will unlock your wealth.
How can we be certain of this? The LORD reveals this to us through His calling of Prophet Jeremiah. This is seen in Jeremiah 1:5.
When I had not yet formed you in the womb, I knew you , and when you had not yet emerged from the womb, I had appointed you; a prophet to the nations I made you.
(The above translation is from the Jewish Bible.)
3 revelations stand out from this verse:
- The LORD knew you before He formed you. This means He had a practical understanding of who you are before you were even conceived in your mother’s womb! He understood your personality, your strengths, your weaknesses, your thought process and your reasoning. The LORD understood how you love and interact with others and so much more, even before He created you!
- He appointed you based on His practical understanding of who you are. This means that He officially named you. What is He naming? He is naming your purpose. We see Him do this practically throughout the Scriptures when He named Abraham, Sarah, Israel, Immanuel and Peter among others. Just as He named them, He has named you! And because He has officially named your purpose using His authority as your Creator, nothing and no one can change your purpose.
- After He officially named you, He made you. This means He has assured your success. Do you understand what this means? When you are in alignment with His purpose for your life, you CANNOT fail! This is further emphasized in Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) which states: For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
This message of purpose is repeated throughout the Scriptures. King David in Psalm 139:16 (NIV) said:
Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
This is not an Old Testament phenomenon. Apostle Paul reiterated this same message in Ephesians 2:10 (NIV):
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works,which God prepared in advance for us to do.
It is the LORD’s desire that we would walk down the path He has ordained for each one of us. Determine today that you will seek Him and ask Him to daily ordain your footsteps in your path of purpose. And if you do this, on the day He calls you home, you shall triumphantly say, like Jesus in John 17:4 (NIV):
I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do.
